Discovering purpose

Nothing should be done without a reason. This workshop helps in defining a purpose for all we are and do. What is your own personal purpose? What is the purpose of your role or your team within the organization? Why does your company/ organization/ group even exist? And what is the connection between all these things that gives purpose to our work? Find your purpose to unleash the intrinsic motivation and drive in all things you do.

How we live and work is defined by our personal values, as well as those of our company and the culture that brings these to life. Defining and understanding these values is central in knowing how to act. Prioritizing these values can also help us know how to make the right decisions in time of value conflict. Defining this and ensuring we can name the behavior we want to see in our culture in order to live truly to our values is essential in any team or company.

Nobody can effectively learn to lead another, before they first learn to lead themselves. This workshop dives into the essence of leadership by starting with one’s own self leadership as the base for any kind of successful team leadership. A journey of awareness, embracing responsibility and taking action to start becoming your own boss. This workshop is ideal for everybody and not just people with direct reports, as leadership is not a title but a state of mind to be attained.

Stop being the leader others have to follow, and transform yourself into the leader others decide to follow. Learn the vital skills of leadership and start on the necessary innerwork to become the leader you always wished you had. Leadership is a muscle that needs to be exercised and not a one off learning, so this workshop offers you the tools to continue building on that muscle and reach a new strength day by day.

Safety is a basic human need, and without it, we are unable to form attachments, achieve greatness and attain our full potential. Unfortunately workplaces are often not considered to be safe enough to show up as our authentic selves and to trust others. Most people wear their professional mask in the workplace and waste incredible energy on being who they think they should be. This workshop looks at what needs to be done, to create an atmosphere of safety, trust and belonging, so working together simply flows.

In a complex world, it is no longer possible to rely on just a few to take responsibility for a team's organization. We need to utilize the individual and collective intelligence and ensure each is empowered to structure and organize him or herself in the best optimal way to reach the joined goals. Taking decentralized decisions, where the problems are felt and where the knowledge sits, is the logical way to increase effective decision making and team motivation. But how do we do this, without it becoming chaotic and disorganized? We work on maintaining team unity and flow, while empowering each individual to be self-organized.

Sparking the innovative geist

Culture eats structure for breakfast! Without changing mindset, we can not truly make the necessary positive changes a team or company needs. But structure can be a very powerful ally to nudge and support this transformation. How are you organized? How do you meet and make decisions? How does information flow? How do you hold each other accountable? Together we explore and find answers to these questions to find the ideal structure to motivate all members of a group.

Is it clear who takes what kinds of decisions within your team? And what happens when the scope of a decision touches many areas of responsibility? Does the team stand behind the decisions that have been made? In a team environment we are continuously challenged to take decisions and some of these can lead to demotivation, conflict and suboptimal solutions, but it doesn’t need to be that way. Clear responsibilities, Integrative decision processes and open communication are just some of the tools we explore in this workshop to make effective decisions.

A team can not flow without clear responsibilities and a strategy to maintain accountability. We work on making the explicit, implicit and ensuring clarity within a team. Speaking out our expectations and defining the scope of roles, frees up energy for getting things done. Agreeing to the way we want to support one another and hold each other accountable in the future, is fundamental to attaining a team agreement and buy-in. Afterall: clarity is kindness!

Effective teamwork starts and ends with communication. Most people think that communication is about talking, when in fact the key to communication is listening. We start by opening up our minds to new perspectives and ensure we are on equal footing, before diving into the tools for honest, respectful and effective communication. How we communicate initiates from our past experiences and will form a large part of our culture. Here we define the feedback culture we want to live by in the future and build together the foundation for this.

You may have identified a problem in the team, but are you sure this is a cause and not just a symptom of some other underlying problem? Systems thinking methods help a team to understand the way elements affect each other and together find the greatest lever to solve the issue at its root rather than working on just helping the symptom. Together we solve the chicken and egg question, and become a holistic view of the internal and external elements that affect a team and its business.

Trust is the secret ingredient to all successful connections, collaborations and teamwork. We believe that the fastest way to scale trust is by giving it, rather than waiting for others to earn it. This can be a scary prospect, as it can make us vulnerable and prone to attacks and failure. This workshop works on building the courage needed to start trusting others and lets you experience the magic of reciprocity that a leap of faith to trust can provoke. Scaling from one trustworthy relationship, to a team of individuals that trust and support each other.
